WELCOME TO BIG SKY
A TOWN BUILT ON HISTORY
A beautiful place such as Big Sky, Montana, didn't come from the easiest of beginnings. However, I'm sure the collective census will agree that everyone wants to make sure their beloved town stays beautiful. Today, that still rings true and would make good ol' Clovis Deveraux proud to see what it has become since the town created where he served as the first mayor of Big Sky! And no matter where you look, you can see the beauty in the town. From the view of the mountains to every store on Main Street, there's always something to see. If you ask me, someone who was born and raised in Big Sky, I'm always seeing something different even after all these years!
Big Sky was founded in 1893 and has seen its fair share of ups and downs, but mostly the city has done nothing but grow into what it is today: 131 years later. Visitors to Big Sky can enjoy the perks of living in a friendly place with access to a top-notch ski resort for their recreational enjoyment. There are plenty of places to shop and eat as well as an amazing theater! There's truly something to always peak your interest while you visit! Locals have the added bonus of enjoying exceptional schools for their children in Kindergarten through 12th grade! Once they're done with their first 12 years of school, they can move on to the award-winning Big Sky University to further their education while staying close to home!
No matter what it is though, Big Sky has it all that one would need or even possibly want! I know that I don't plan on leaving this beautiful place. As I was born and raised here, I aspire to also make sure my children and their children are also born and raised right here in this beautiful piece of Montana!

Morris shook his head and said, "My great grandfather is to thank for this shop. He built the building and everything in it. His twin brother owns the original Delancey Custom Furniture in New York, or at least his great grandson does now. But I just do what I can to keep it going by doing what my father taught me."
He put his hands up and shook his head, "That's not necessary, Olivia. I trust you and the fact that he looks like a carbon copy of my father and grandfather, as well as Logan, he has to be a Delancey." He knew that would be the smart thing to do, but he wasn't going to put Olivia through something like that. Not if she was dying from cancer and just wanting to have her son know who his father was, especially if she still had to tell him that bit of information. "You haven't told Blaine yet? I would think you'd want to tell him first," he asked her, wondering why she didn't tell him yet though.

livia shook her head at him. “You don’t give yourself enough credit Morris. This shop is still what it is because of you.” She smiled at him knowing he took pride in the work that he did. Delancey furniture was talked about in high regard far and wide from Big Sky. She was pretty sure that her grandparents even had a piece of Delancey furniture that probably went to someone else in the family when they died. Pushing those thoughts away she listened to Morris go on. “You were my first Morris, and only one till Blaine was around four. Dad sent him packing though when he saw the bruises on me. I never allowed him around Blaine.” She admitted to him.
She knew without a doubt that Blaine was Morris’s son, and a Delancey so she didn’t push any further. She’d brought it up for Morris’s benefit. She shook her head. “I thought it best to talk to you first. He’s still reeling from me telling him what the doctor told me. I’m heading over to talk to him as soon as I leave here. I wanted to know how you felt about having another son that you never knew about.” She would love to put off telling Blaine a little longer, but twenty-four years was long enough especially when he just found out his mother had incurable cancer.

Morris gave Olivia a smile. She was always positive and encouraging, even back in high school. The fact that she was facing the end of her life and was still that way towards him, the man that moved on from her all those years ago was admirable as well. He nodded and said, "It's a shock, I won't lie. I'll definitely have to tell Meghan about this, but I'd never turn away my own son. He'll always be welcome around here and in my home, Olivia." He was being honest. He knew Meghan would probably he shocked but would be accepting at the same time. "And I'm sorry I didn't try harder to find you so we wouldn't be in this position now and that Blaine would've known me his entire life," he said, apologizing to her again for not finding her. Also he would've been able to know Blaine as well.

livia nodded when Morris said it was a shock. She knew it would be. It was her fault for never coming clean before, and it had to be unsettling. “Thank you Morris. I know he’ll be in good hands when I’m not here anymore.” She inhaled deeply after saying that. Something she didn’t even want to think about. She wanted more than anything to be there to see her son become a father, and spoil his kids rotten. Watch them grow up and love them like a grandmother should. Alas that wasn’t going to be in the books for her, and she hated that more than anything. Morris would get that luxury of spoiling their grandchildren, and that made her feel a little bit better.
She shook her head at him as he went on. “No Morris quit saying that you are sorry. It was all me. I’m the one who should be sorry for keeping Blaine from you all these years. Not wanting to screw your life up. I should go now and go check on Blaine and tell him the truth.” She smiled at Morris. “I’ll ask him if he wants me to set something up with you when you let me know it's a good time to meet. Or if he wants to do this on his own.” She gave Morris a hug before she could stop herself and gave him a kiss on the cheek inhaling his scent one last time. One that made her a bit dizzy, but she was able to steady herself as she quickly pulled away.

Morris nodded. "You don't have to thank me for this, Livvie," he told her, the nickname he called her all the time in high school slipping out easily. "He's our son. It's a father's duty to care for his kids no matter what." He hugged her back, his arms coming around her and holding her to him for a moment, but releasing her as she pulled back away. He gave her a smile and said, "Just let me know the time and, if you or him want somewhere else than here, place and I'll be there. Whatever you need, just let me know and I'll make it happen." He meant it too, not just for Blaine, but for her as well. He knew Meghan would understand in the end.

livia blinked back the tears that were threatening hearing him call her by his nickname for her. She didn’t want to think about what could've been. Life was too short the way it was for that. She had to get out of here before she said something stupid. She just nodded at him feeling a little at a loss what to say now. She was a bit shocked that he had hugged her back. She took a few steps away. “I’ll let you know.” She headed towards the door, before stopping as she reached for the door handle. With a deep breath she told him what was in her heart then.
“You were my first love Morris, and will always have a special place in my heart. Especially being the father of my child. That love has never gone away. They say if you love something you should set it free, and that was I guess what I did back then. I could have fought for you, but you were happy, and I wasn’t going to spoil that. Then or now.” With that said, not even looking at him she rushed out the door as the tears started to slide down her cheeks. She pulled her keys out of her pocket getting her car unlocked with the keyless lock and slid into her car when she got there.

Morris frowned hearing her. It was breaking his heart all over again, feeling like he was losing her again. Hell, he had no idea why he was feeling that way. He loved Meghan and was happily married, but something with what she said and how she said really hit him harder than he expected. Before he could even get her name out, she had closed the door behind her and he watched her go from where he stood in his shop. He saw her get into her car as he looked out of the glass of the storefront. He wanted to go after her, but he knew he shouldn't. He just stood there as he watched her.

livia took a few deep breaths calming herself. Which wasn't that easy to do after the stress of what she had just gone through. It had to be done though, and she couldn’t figure out if it made her feel better having told him how she felt before fleeing or if it made it worse. It had to be said though. She grabbed a Kleenex out of her bag and dabbed at the tears that had flowed out. With another deep breath she put her keys in the ignition and started the car. Without looking back she pulled out heading towards her son and Abby’s place.
