WELCOME TO BIG SKY
A TOWN BUILT ON HISTORY
A beautiful place such as Big Sky, Montana, didn't come from the easiest of beginnings. However, I'm sure the collective census will agree that everyone wants to make sure their beloved town stays beautiful. Today, that still rings true and would make good ol' Clovis Deveraux proud to see what it has become since the town created where he served as the first mayor of Big Sky! And no matter where you look, you can see the beauty in the town. From the view of the mountains to every store on Main Street, there's always something to see. If you ask me, someone who was born and raised in Big Sky, I'm always seeing something different even after all these years!
Big Sky was founded in 1893 and has seen its fair share of ups and downs, but mostly the city has done nothing but grow into what it is today: 131 years later. Visitors to Big Sky can enjoy the perks of living in a friendly place with access to a top-notch ski resort for their recreational enjoyment. There are plenty of places to shop and eat as well as an amazing theater! There's truly something to always peak your interest while you visit! Locals have the added bonus of enjoying exceptional schools for their children in Kindergarten through 12th grade! Once they're done with their first 12 years of school, they can move on to the award-winning Big Sky University to further their education while staying close to home!
No matter what it is though, Big Sky has it all that one would need or even possibly want! I know that I don't plan on leaving this beautiful place. As I was born and raised here, I aspire to also make sure my children and their children are also born and raised right here in this beautiful piece of Montana!

I'm bold, and I speak my mind. I don't take shit from anyone. If your my blood family I love you with every fiber of my being. My wife sometimes I wonder though if I do love her anymore with all of the shenanigans she has pulled over the years. The only woman able to tell my brother and I apart is his wife Carmelita who was the third musketeer with us three growing up. I hadn't even looked at girls till the day Solstice sunk her hooks into me. I should have listened to Carmelita instead of marrying her, but I wouldn't have any of my children if I hadn't of. So something good came of it. Though Solstice brings out a side of me that I hate. The one that has to make an appearance god forbid if we don't. Put on airs for the aristocracy as she calls it. Well that's not me. I'm more down to earth than that. I could live off of the land if I had to. Just like my ancestors did before me.

My origins date back to before Big Sky was a town or Montana was even a state to the Shoshone Indians who occupied what is Big Sky today. My family descends from the great chiefs of the Shoshone Indians. I can't tell you exact dates, but when most of the Shoshone were rounded up by the army the Big Sky tribe which was small remained untouched. Continuing to live out their lives here. Our ancestor Soaring Sly Falcon and his squaw Golden Dawn were just starting a family when they became one of the founding seven families of Big Sky Montana.
Soaring Sly Falcon was also one of the founding members along with the other six men of the founding families of the Wild Wolves MC. Those men kept up on all of the new trends and made Big Sky What it is today. The MC is still prospering as well. A lot more members than it was a hundred and twenty five years ago. Some of the old bikes from back then remain in the family and are in a special place in our family garage. Almost as if a shrine for them. I am Cobalt Falcon. I don't even have to look into a mirror to see the mirror image of myself every day. Only that mirror image is usually wearing different clothes than I am. Except for when we were little and our mama used to dress us alike.
Our poor mama was in labor with my twin brother Cavalier and I for almost 48 hours. The whole time raging at my father I was told that she was never going to have another child again. That he wasn't touching her again. It was a bright clear day when I was born ten minutes before my twin. Mom was still raging till I was placed in her arms, and to my father's disbelief she oohed and ahhed over me telling him she wanted a dozen more. I believe he fainted then. We were definitely well loved by our parents.
My parents tried over the years to have another child, but our precious mama would miscarry every time. The doctor told her she may never be able to have another child after the long labors with my twin and I. Cav and I were six when mama did carry a child full term. We got our baby sister Marisol. In our eyes she was a precious porcelain doll. Well till she started to cry then we'd cover our ears and run for the hills to get away from her. We were her biggest protectors though as we grew up. At a young age she took to tagging along after us. Even if we took her back to mama who would just smile at us, and watch her take off after us again. We usually gave in and just let her.
Like all of our friends we got our first mini bike when we were around four. If I remember correctly they were our birthday present that year. Best present ever! Mine was cherry red while Cavaliers was blue. We had more than our share of fun and adventures on them. We were taller than our friends and were shooting up fast so we got our dirt bikes before we were six. Wasn't long before we were tearing up the track on them. Starting motocross as soon as we were old enough we quickly became a threat to others on the track. We became known as the twin terrors. If someone got in our way they weren't in the way for long.
Growing up with us was Carmelita Knight. Also known as Sleeping Fawn as her parents stuck with the tradition of Indian names. Carmelita had been hanging with my twin and I since we were toddlers. I knew it was more with my twin and her, and I was happy with that. I loved Carmelita like I loved my baby sister Marisol. She was the only girl our age who could tell us apart though. I did envy him for that. If people thought we were terrors on that track they didn't know what hit them till sweet, innocent, tomboy Carmelita flew by them on the track. She was the youngest of seven, and had six older brothers that both Cavalier and I looked up to, and tried to imitate. If one of them gave even an ounce of respect or praise we were on cloud nine!
When we hit junior high I tried out for all the sports I could. Football was fun and so was hockey. Two of the biggest contact sports out there. With Cavalier and I teaming up we were unstoppable through junior high. Freshman year we had a bit more difficulty with older boys that were bigger than us. So we started lifting weights and beefing up. We went undefeated that year after we started gaining muscle. It was our freshman year as well that Solstice Nightingale, one of the most popular girls at Big Sky High School, got her claws into me. I hadn't even looked twice at her before figuring she was way out of my league. So I was like what the hell when she wanted me to go to the Homecoming Dance with her. She wouldn't take no for an answer. Carmelita and her never got along before as she had grown up here in Big Sky with us. Solstice just wouldn't let me go though.
After graduation we were suddenly engaged and I never even asked. She just took it for granted. I just went with whatever she said. It wasn't long and we were married in a big extravagant wedding. Growing up rich she didn't work, and wanted me to get a job that would raise our reputation up. Maybe get a job at her father's company and work my way up. It was one thing I really put my foot down on. My family had been High Mountain Rangers since they had been formed, and there was nothing else I would ever be. She would never sway me from that decision no matter what. She still makes barbs about it. She doesn't think it's high class enough for her background. Well she knew what she was getting into when she married me. I did prospect to the Wild Wolves MC and she hated that. Said it tarnished us. I really didn't give a shit!
We had three boys two years apart from one another River, Ransym, and Jethro. I guess you could say we had some good chemistry between us. Three years later we had another boy. Valiant and within another two years we had Sly. Our sixth child though she had an accident and went into labor a week earlier than was planned. Our first daughter was born and I couldn't be happier! Solstice though wanted nothing to do with the child and blamed the accident on her when it was clearly her own fault. Definitely not our daughter. Skyler Ash was the name I gave her. I bonded with my first born daughter as I would go to the nursery and hold her in the evenings or anytime I was home. Solstice was not happy about it. She even made the comment about giving her away. I had told her there was no way in hell. When Skyler would get sick I would take her to Carmelita who was more than happy to take care of her. More often than not Skyler was at the Falcon estate where my brother and his family resided. As first born it should have gone to me, but Solstice wasn't to be parted from her ancestral home.
We had two more boys after our baby girl each a year apart. I had thought we were done having kids, but shortly after our baby boy Solstice gave birth to our second daughter Shiloh Justice who I named as well. Just like with Skyler, Solstice refused to even hold her, and wanted no part of her. So yet again I was bonding with my baby girl. Solstice told me no more kids after that, and just like that there were no more. I had no idea what she did to make sure that she wouldn't get pregnant again. I didn't really care. I had nine children I loved more than anything. As for our boys Solstice was somewhat of a mother to them at first, but they pretty much took after me loving the girls and protecting them. Carmalita and Cavalier were more than happy to help me out with my girls. As were my parents.
Over the years I've had a few scares with my kids. Jethro was kidnapped by one of the nannies when he was six. I was frantic, but Solstice just shrugged her shoulders as if oh well. We had more than enough kids. Kids that she had no hand in loving and raising them. I was on the trail along with my twin and a few others of the Wild Wolves. It took over a week before we caught them in some woods. They weren't at the car when we found it. Looking in the car I about threw up at the smell. They must have been living in it as it was littered with McDonalds trash and who knew what else. Looking around my heart pulsed hearing Jethro scream out Daddy. Whirling in that direction I locked eyes with the woman who dared to take my son. A few moments passed, before she grabbed him up in his arms and ran with him. I didn't hesitate taking chase.
When I heard his screams of pain ahead my heart sank. Getting to the embankment I heard his sobs down below, and I quickly made my way down. Gathering my son in my arms gently I told him everything was going to be alright now. It scared me when he passed out, and Cavalier helped me back up the embankment along with the other Wild Wolves. When they went back to get the nanny she was gone. At the moment my main concern was getting my son to the hospital. I was right there by his side when he woke up and said Daddy. Already having tears in my eyes I completely lost it with his next words. "I knew you didn't give me away to her daddy like she said. You said you loved me and you'd always be there. I knew that you would come." Holding him gently in my arms, as he had a broken leg and arm from the fall down that embankment, I rocked him slightly. Cavalier had gotten up leaving the room giving us some privacy when Jethro woke up. I told my baby boy in my arms that I would always be there for him no matter what. That I was going to love him forever and ever.
Taking him home I took him to my real home. Falcon's Roost. Where I knew he would be taken care of by Carmelita when I couldn't be there. Where my other children were while I was getting their brother back. Carmelita loved my children as if they were her own, and Marisol was right there helping with him and the other children too. As for the string of nannies that we had over the years I fired the last of them. I say string, because Ransym had run more than probably a dozen off over the years. Which I had thought hilarious, but it infuriated Solstice. She wasn't happy about me getting rid of the nannies either as she wanted nothing to do with our children. Me on the other hand was a different story.
One by one our kids were growing up. Skyler was close with my mama Margarita. She was sixteen when my mother died, and it broke her heart. Solstice hasn't cared though as she and my mama never saw eye to eye. She was not happy one bit when my mama had given Skyler a priceless broch that my daughter treasures more than anything. My mother had given it to her for either her birthday or Christmas. I can't remember which, and Solstice had made a fuss. My mama had put Solstice in her place that day. I didn't even interfere. I know my daughter goes to my mother's grave quite often to talk to her and lay flowers on the grave.
When River was sixteen I knew that'd he'd been having his girlfriend Rebel over. I needed his help one day, and called him to come help me. I didn't even know Rebel had been there. We'd barely gotten to work on what I needed his help with when screams rang through out the house. River was gone in a heartbeat. My heart pounding I ran after him wondering what in the world was going on. I paled seeing his girl Rebel laying there in the foyer. A puddle of blood growing rapidly around her. Without hesitation I had my phone out calling 911. How she had fallen down the stairs I have no idea. Wasn't long and the ambulance was there taking her away. I made a call to her parents Clay and Eloise Swanson letting them know what had transpired, and then headed to the hospital myself knowing that was where River would be for the duration.
My oldest two boys are married now, and Jethro is head over heels for a girl from Switzerland. Meeting her parents at Christmas a few years ago was quite the experience. Ransym and his wife Ryot have blessed me with three grandsons who I absolutely adore. One of my favorite things to do is spoil them, and then send them back home to their parents. Babies are one of the greatest joys in life. River and Rebel have yet to have one of their own. I'm hoping that one day soon they will get to experience being a parent. As there is nothing else like it in this world. One thing I love more than life itself.
In January of this last year there was an avalanche that the High Mountain Rangers were called out on. It wasn't till we were there and getting things going that we found out who was buried in that avalanche. My heart quickly sank hearing that brothers of mine in the club were buried out there. It wasn't long before we found the first victim, and we new that this was going to turn into a recovery operation instead of rescue. My heart shattered a bit each time we found one of them. Eight of the victims had been Wild Wolves. Two youngest ones barely in their twenties. It was a tragic accident that I shed tears over more than once.
Two months ago we got a call that one of our ranger's family had been in an accident. When the call for help came we were there as soon as we could. Two of his kids were taken with injuries to the hospital. His wife however had been struck by the drunk driver and taken over the bridge. Down into the white water below. We searched for days for her, but unfortunately we were unable to find her. My heart aches for Trace and his kids that have no closure. I'm hoping that she's still out there somewhere alive, and just unable to get home in someway or other.
Things are more than strained between me and Solstice right now. Which I don't even know where she is at the present time. Off on one of her trips that she takes around the world. Skyler being in the hospital was the last straw with Solstice. She was responsible for the abuse our daughter had been going through. How long it went on I don't know since Skyler won't talk to me. I know she's opened up a little to her cousin Cammie. It's thanks to my daughter in law Rebel seeing something that River came uncorked when she told him, and he, Ransym, and Jethro had gone after the boy hurting her putting him into the hospital. With my eldest I'm surprised the boy wasn't dead.
While Skyler was in the hospital the rest of us packed up our stuff at Nightingale Manor and moved it to Falcon's roost. I am in the process of filing for divorce from Solstice. I've had enough of the way she treats our children, and I'm not going to put up with it. My kids are my everything, and what keep me going. Getting me up out of that bed that I just want to wallow in. Things have changed for the better with this move. All of my children seem to be happy here at Falcon's Roost. Here's to hoping that it stays that way for quite a while.

Rayne sat away from the others somewhat. As it seemed like everyone was paired off but for him. Or they were with their friends. They’d been back from Sturgis for only a few days, and his dad, Rowdy, and Cain were throwing a bash at their place to try and take off some of the stress from what the trip had been. The Oklahoma boys and his dad, and Cain were taking turns getting up on the stage and singing. Oh and even Clyde had gotten up and sang. Their kids called out songs for them to sing, and they’d pick one from one of them. Of course his dad hadn’t asked him. It was mainly his baby brothers and once in a while Rafe or Ryder would yell out one.
Sturgis hadn’t really been any fun and he and his brothers had never gotten that tattoo that he designed. With all hell breaking loose everyone was on high alert the next week so his father and brothers had forgotten about it. He’d slept off and on that next week after what had happened to him. At least the stitches had gotten taken out finally so he didn’t have that discomfort. Though it still aches some, and Stephanie had said it probably would for some time as hard as he had been hit. It itched and bothered him, but he refrained from messing with it not wanting to get it infected as it was healing. The bruises were still there, but not as bad as they had been.
His dad’s attention today was either on Rosanna or his baby brothers most of the time. Feeling tired and left out he got up to head inside to his room. Rafe and Ryder’s attention was on their new found girlfriends. His gaze fell on Athena then who was talking to some of the other kids in the Jr Club, and there were a couple of guys that she was laughing and having fun with. He felt a pang in his heart, and weaved in and out of people to head inside. A stray tear ran down his cheek as he got inside, and he quickly brushed it away. He hissed in his breath at the pain when he had forgotten a moment about his wound. With a deep breath he headed up the stairs when he came up on them.
It wasn’t that much of a walk down the hallway to his room. The pounding of the music and the roar of the crowd outside was inside the house too, and it was giving him a headache. So all he wanted to do was lay down and take a nap. Opening his door a sound caught his attention. Looking up he gasped as there were a couple of guys in the room with their girls having fun on his bed as well as Simon’s bed. He gaped in shock for a few moments, before turning bright red not knowing what to do. He jumped when one of them yelled at him to get out. Quickly he ducked out his head pounding even more and realized then that he wasn’t alone upstairs as he saw others in the hallways too.
Looking up and down the hallways he noticed people going in and out of the theater rooms too. Walking down to his dad’s room he thought he might find some relief in there, but his dad must have locked his door. He tried Rowdy’s and Cain’s finding both of them locked. There was nowhere to go he realized, and he headed back down stairs trying not to cry. That wouldn’t look good in front of the sons around. There was a lot that he had no idea who they were. Including the ones that had been in his room having fun. Feeling lost and really left out he turned at the stairs and a drunk son knocked into him knocking him down. He saw stars when his head hit the corner of a baseboard. Laughter was heard, and then they ignored him. Sitting up he held his hand to his head, and when he pulled away there was blood on his head.
He cringed as his head was killing him even more now. Pulling himself up he hears something crash and shatter somewhere. His vision was a little blurry now, and he felt the blood trickling down his forehead. There had to be somewhere that he could go, and he thought of the garage. Making his way down that way he put the code into the door knowing it had been locked up for the party. His dad was taking any chances with his panhead with someone messing with it. Once the door shut behind him the sound was suddenly gone as the garage seemed to be soundproof. His ears were ringing though from the never ending sound from before.
With an unsteady breath he made his way over to his bike not even fighting the tears now. Sitting on it he laid his head down against the cool gas tank and the sobs came unable to stop them. He wasn’t feeling good at all, and when he lifted his head a while later there was a lot of blood on his bike. Had to be from where he had hit his head. A ride might help him feel better was his thoughts, and he got off pushing his bike out a side door, and around some bikes getting on his bike after making sure the garage was locked back up. If it wasn’t his dad, Rowdy, and Cain not to mention the others with bikes in there would kill him.
Starting his bike he rode down the driveway with the guards not even looking twice at him as there were sons and jr club members coming right and left. Tears were still streaming down his cheeks and there was still blood trickling down so his vision was still a bit blurred. Right now he didn’t care, he just had to get away, and hopefully clear his head. His dad and brothers as well as the others would probably never even notice he was gone. They were having too much fun. A while later he realized that the ride wasn’t helping, and he stopped not even knowing where he was. He hadn’t been this way yet. Only the other direction into town. The throbbing in his head was even worse, and all he wanted was his dad right now.
Turning his bike around he tried to wipe the tears away and the blood, but it wasn’t helping much. With a deep breath he headed back. With his vision obscured, he didn’t see the cloud of dust coming down a dirt road not far away. When he turned on the next road thinking he was going in the right direction the car came out of nowhere. Unable to stop he ran right into it, and he was suddenly flying through the air. The impact of hitting the road knocked him out.
